Ok, I am a little behind this week. I admit it. But, it was for a very, very good reason!

I have a new blog, now integrated with my website! And.....

I have a new gallery! It is open to the public!

I can't tell you how excited I am! I have wanted a gallery, but the free ones just never worked well. So I saved and waited, and finally grabbed a great one on sale! Woohoo! (See, I totally understand the beauty of shopping a sale. hee hee) So I want to invite you guys to use the gallery! I don't mind if other products are in the pages, but I am requiring that it must feature something from my store. I think that's pretty fair. You can definitely credit whatever designers you used, but no linking directly would also be appreciated.

Ok,so I have new releases to announce, Lucky Sun has a new palette just for the winter & Fall holidays, and Hollie has some more great quick pages! Not to mention awesome pages that are rocking other galleries (and now they can rock mine!) and yes, the freebie I mentioned! It is a fun filled post today!

I wanted to remind you that you can sign up for e-mail subscriptions when I post, so you don't miss out on the freebies. They will be a strict 24 hour deal (unless combined with a New Release, then you have 2-3 days). No exceptions! Once I remove them they are no longer free! So if you like them, you may want to subscribe! I also placed a few other subscription thingies around the blog for those of you who want to get them some other way.

I know some of you missed the freebie. And I am sorry! But it is gone. I would suggest using the box to the left to subscribe to this blog. :) I am only going to have freebies up for 24 hours. I won't extend it because it is pretty much a bonus to blog readers!

So if you want to get the notices when I post the freebies you are gonna have to bookmark me and check every day or subscribe. I plan to have a freebie up for 24 hours each time I put new products in the store. It works well for me to add them all at the same time. I stay focused. LOL! So, if you subscribe you will see the Two Buck Tuesday post and that is your cue!

I am hoping to release things each week. But with the way this week has gone I may have to plan for every other week. I will see what happens. I am craziest at the first of the week, so maybe I will be ready come next Tuesday.

Also, I added a new store subscription this morning. You can now sign up for a monthly newsletter or the weekly one. The weekly one will have the blog post in it, so you will actually get the notice for the freebies if you sign up for that.

To change your store newsletter subscription:
sign in at DigiApeDesigns. Then log in to your account and edit your profile. The newlsetter signup boxes are at the bottom. If you are signed up for the newsletter already- it is the monthly one. I won't automatically switch you to the weekly one!

Ok, I have to get moving on dinner or we will be eating cereal. Which my kids would love, but I don't think my tummy will be very full. :)

I was up so late last night getting things ready for Two Buck Tuesday I forgot to tell you the news!

You have the option of Paypal or you can just pay with a credit card! I have had a few requests. So, hopefully it will make it easier for some of you if you don't have to use Paypal!

The password also must be 5 or more characters.

Thank you to everyone who took advantage of the sale! I am so very grateful. It was really timely. My new puppy (though he is giant sized) actually had to go in to the vet today and he has pneumonia. So the sales helped me cover that cost. I was hoping to put it toward school fees, but I guess that'll wait. :) We just adopted Bear on the 13th, and he picked up kennel cough and the pneumonia while he was at the shelter. We didn't know he was sick until after our vet visit. And it was the weekend. So we kept watching him and he kept getting more sick. So I got him in today and had him checked again. But after getting home and giving him his first dose of the anti-biotic he had an allergic reaction. It is so sad. So now I am watching him and trying to will him to just go to sleep. And I get to take him back in to the vet in the morning to see what else we can do for him. I've never had a dog that has been so sick, and it is just breaking my heart. It is like the kids getting sick only he can't tell you anything. It is awful. So, anyway, thank you so much for buying my things! It made it so I could get him taken care of and not have to give up groceries to do it. It means the world to me.

Now, on to more fun stuff.... My fabulous CT team has been growing. I have added some new Layout Artists to the team and I am so excited. They've all been making fantastic pages with the kits and I wanted to show some off!

I am working on the following kits right now. They will be released this month. If you want to work with one of these kits (previews are not finished- not all pieces are shown yet) as a One Kit Wonder CT member than see the post below for the instructions to apply!

If you are interested in being a One Kit Wonder please indicate that when you apply and tell me which kit you'd like to work with! I will post preview pics on this blog only! And you can tell me your preference.

One Kit Wonder CT will be required to make one gorgeous page and post in the galleries

*I will be requiring ONE page (done beautifully) per kit. It must be high quality, show off the kit to its fullest potential and be eye catching. It also can only contain my products.

*I require the layouts to be posted in the galleries at DST, MSA, MegaByte Mall and one other open gallery of your choice.

To apply:

1. Grab the free kit in my store

2. Scrap your best layout with only that kit.

3. Upload the kit at DST, MSA or Mega Byte Mall

Sorry I didn't get this up until the last minute. Had a few crazy things going on, and my computer does not seem to like Vista's SP1. :(

Anyway- the CT kit is now up in the store! I will remove it when I am ready to, no specific time will be given! If you want to apply grab the kit and let's see what you can do!

*Note* the kit is not a full kit. I know this. But I wanted to see how flexible and creative you are. And I am sure some people will just be grabbing it and running. And that's ok. But that was partly why I didn't put all the pieces in. :) I do spend a lot of time on these and I appreciate having customers that appreciate the time put in to quality products. So, as far as the CT team- yeah, you will probably wish there was this or that in the kit. But show me what you can come up with on a limited supply!

Creative Team, One Kit Wonder CT and Hybrid Team Calls:

I am looking to add a few talented page artists and hybrid artists to my team for EITHER a 3-4 month gig, or a ONE KIT WONDER gig.

The holidays are coming, I am going back to school and I know I need more scrappers to help me test and sample my upcoming kits. If you are interested in applying for the team here's the details:

The call will be open until filled. I have no set number of positions, if I love what you do I will add you to the team! If you are interested in being a One Kit Wonder please indicate that when you apply and tell me which kit you'd like to work with! I will post preview pics on this blog only! And you can tell me your preference.

My CT Call:

I have a FREE Mini kit in my store- Farmer's Market. If you are interested in applying you must grab that kit and use it (and no other products) to scrap the best layout you can! Upload the page at DST, MSA or Mega Byte Mall and send me a link by e-mail. I will choose my new CT members based on what I see you can do with the free kit! This is a mini, I have not included everything from the full kit. I am wanting to see how creatively you use the items and just what you think of! (more details below)

One Kit Wonder CT:

*I will be requiring ONE page (done beautifully) with one kit you choose from my list of open kits. It must be high quality, show off the kit to its fullest potential and be eye catching. It also can only contain my products.

CT Requirements:

*I require you to use everything you get from my store in at least one layout. You will be given a store credit to use as you choose, but you must use each item in at least one layout.

(BLOG Challenges are not going to be happening. I just can't take that on! So if you saw that requirement it is no longer here.)

*You are required to be active in the CT forum, posting at least once per week, and keeping track of your progress in the forum. (The CT forum is only for CT members, no public forums are on my site. So no forum participation is required other than to keep you up to date!

To apply:

I am looking for a hybrid team that will use and sample kits I am working on! This call will be taken very seriously. If you do not send all of the information I am asking for your application will be deleted. Sorry, but I have to know you are able to follow instructions to a "t"! And the application is the first place to start. So please follow the instructions carefully!

Hybrid Design Team Requirements:

*I will require you to make something beautiful with a kit I will mail you. I will send you the supplies you need other than cutting/adhesive supplies. (Yeah, in other words you will be getting real live product in the mail as well as any downloads specifically for the project!!!)

*You will receive an unspecified amount of kits. It will not be more than one per month. You will have 2-3 weeks to complete the project, take your pictures and send them to me.

*Upload pictures of the projects and post in the galleries at DST, MSA, MegaByte Mall and one other open gallery of your choice.

***You are required to be active in the CT forum, posting at least once per week, and keeping track of your progress in the forum.**

This is pretty serious as it isn't free for me. So I will be looking for the best! If you are a hard worker, do your best with your projects, honest and loving hybrid then read below for your instructions to apply!

To Apply:

*your name AND your DST or MSA username and specify which forum it is from

3. I also need to see 3-5 sample photos of a project you have done. They need to be high quality so that they would be usable in a store sample gallery. This will be as important as the project itself in my decision. I will not accept blurry, low res or bad lighting in sample pictures. They must be 300dpi, jpg format, and at least 1000 pixels wide.

4. If you have any references that I can contact that would be a bonus for you!

5. Tell me if you are currently on any other teams (and which ones they are) or if you have been on any teams in the past.

Summer Sun!

Well, it finally got hot here. I don't think we've ever had a spring, since I moved to Utah, that lasted for so long. I loved it, and yet longed for the summer sun to arrive. And now, fickle as I am, would like it to go back to the 80s for a while. Along with the extreme heat comes a longing to be indoors in the cool air. And I find myself back in front of the computer more. So maybe I will have more kits designed as a result!

I have some hybrid projects on my counter waiting for their turn for fame. I am excited to get them finished!

I do not get into "uproars" much. I hate the drama. I hate the half-truths. But this is one piece of legislation that is real, and it has been attempted in the past and has been re-drafted and is making its appearance again. It is called the Orphan Works bill. And essentially anything you post online will be able to become "orphaned" and anyone can legally take it and use it as they wish. Imagine all of the photos we post for our friends and families. Porn sites could abuse them. Advertisers could steal them. You may be getting the idea.

Could you imagine if someone used your child's photo in an unsavory advertisement and you had no say and no rights to make them stop using it! This could easily happen if these bills are passed. There has already been an instance of Virgin Mobile using unauthorized Flickr photos of children in advertisements & billboards and that is before this law was proposed. We do not need to make it easier for them to steal your family photos!

This is NOT a hoax. This is FOR REAL. And it is scary. Some people say us illustrators and designers are being alarmist, but I would rather err on the side of caution, defeat this bill and keep my copyrights as they are now. These bills were shot down once because of strong resistance from Illustrators, designers and photographers we can defeat these bills again!

Due to the lack of publicity about this bill, the most innocent victims of this plunder – those who put images online - are still completely unaware of it. Who am I talking about? Average American families who have enjoyed the internet as a way to share the happiest, and even saddest, moments of their lives with their friends and family across the country, and even around the world, through the wonders of technology. Google has already said they plan to use these orphan works in the millions. Why should companies like this be allowed to to harvest our property from private web pages, blog sites, share sites and the like?

Ok, I was ready for a change. So I swapped templates. And I tell you what! LOL! I still am having this go so slow when I type a post. I thought that would get fixed by upgrading. Uggh! So, I will try posting more later. But hopefully you'll like the look of this better. I just have to finish getting it all back on here. :)

The one is a piece of cardboard with burnt edges! This was to coordinate with my Girls Camp kit or another one that will be popping into stores in July! This is totally acid free! LOL! Great for journaling or adding more embellishments to!

Playtime Kit

Well, I guess I've been missing for a few days! I have been so crazy this week. I don't know about your schools, but this seems to be the busiest time at ours. Cramming in all the concerts and "special" events at the last minute. And then there's Memorial Day and so soccer games were changed, and it just all adds up to me being a little bit crazy!

But, I did manage to get a kit almost ready! I am actually tweaking the ribbons right now and it should be finished up over the weekend! I love the colors of this kit. I was trying to scrap soccer photos and couldn't find the right colors in my stash, which is amazing. I have a huge stash! LOL! So, this kit came about as a result of my "need". Hope you like it! I will post a pic of the elements after I am done tweaking! I had a lot of fun with them, there are tons of different elements!

But the one I have for next week I am so excited about! The great thing about challenges is that you are stretched and you are forced to learn new things. I love it. I don't expect to win. But it is Thursday, I know! I know!

Oh, I am so excited! Yesterday was a bit wild for me, so I didn't post. I had to wait until everything was more finalized. But I feel pretty safe in sharing this...

I have been accepted as a designer at Designs In Digital! (They were ClikChicDesigns) Wow, huh? I sort of applied on a whim and out of curiosity. I figured I'd get a "thanks, but keep working on it" response. So I am just bowled over with excitement! And a bit nervous of course too! I still feel so new to this. So, here is the link to the store I'll be at: http://www.designsindigital.com/shop It will be a little while before I have my kits in there. I have some prep work to do first! And they are finishing their transition to the new store as we speak.

I don't want you to be worried about what that will mean over at Scrap Galaxy or with the freebies. While I may not be offering the big freebies as often, I will still offer them. I always make more than will actually fit into a kit. So after I narrow it all down, what else would I do with the extras?!?! And I love Scrap Galaxy, so it won't change anything for me there!

Well, I wanted to share my news! I may be hit and miss here for the next little while as I get prepared for the store. I have to focus on that first. And I am still in the Queen of the Crop Contest, so I have a couple more pages to get finished for that as well!

Yikes, this will be a new adventure for me! I haven't had a paying job in over a decade! But this will be so fun! Right up my creative alley!

I took dd#2 out last week to the gardens. The tulip festival was going on and flowers are a giant magnet for me. I am amazed at how endless the varieties are. I love looking at the subtleties and am so grateful for a Heavenly Father who has blessed us with so much beauty.

Yeah, so I am thinking to myself "what was I thinking?!?!". I registered at scrapbookgraphics.com for their Queen of the Crop contest. Holy Yikes! I have been working on my first page all day and I haven't settled on anything yet. Good heavens! I will post it on here as soon as I am allowed to, but that isn't until after they post it for voting.

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE all the support I can get. I know I will get at least my vote! hee heee I will let you know when voting is open.

This is done with Krista Ringham's Spring Breeze kit. I love the embroidered flower! I distressed the papers a bit with one of my own brushes. And I added a bit of ink with another brush. Then I ran an action on the title- distressed stamp from Atomic Cupcake.
